My Girls

Since I've been busy working on birthday party stuff and haven't been able to make any cards to post, I thought I'd post a picture of my girls. Don't they just look so enthused? This was taken last weekend and let me tell you, trying to get a picture of them together is pretty much next to impossible. They won't sit still for two seconds! This was the only picture that came out where they were both looking at the camera. Believe me, they do smile...but the flippin' delay on my digital camera always misses it. Emily is the one in yellow, and Ashley is in red. I've had my hands full with Emily for the last couple of days. On Sunday she was running a fever of 101 and wouldn't eat anything. She was just miserable and I don't know what's wrong. All she wanted to do was cuddle with me on the couch and watch Barney. I think she's cutting more teeth. She was feeling a bit better today, but still had a slight fever and still wasn't really herself. Hopefully she's better by tomorrow or it's off to the peditricians.

Couple more from last weekend....

Birthday Invitations

I'm almost done will all of the invitations for my girls' 2nd birthday party next month. I decided to go with the ever popular pocket cards. I know I'm about a year behind the times, but hey, it's new to me! I used DCWV Pocket Full of Posies paper, various ribbons, a Michael's $1 "you're invited" stamp and embossed it with sparkly powder. I still need to add some brads and embellishments, but for the most part they are done.

I also started on the table centerpieces which will be these cute little bags I found at Walmart. I cut out Tinkerbell from some paper plates also from Walmart. I then added glitter to her wings and glued the little flowers on. It seemed a little bare, so I printed out a number 2 and used it as a template to cut them out from the patterned paper. I'm going to fill the bags with either tissue paper or that basket filler papery stuff. Then get some helium balloons, tie colored ribbon around them and tape the ribbon to the bottom inside the bag. I'm thinkin' three balloons each bag. I've only made two bags so far and I've got about five more to make. I'll post a picture of the end result.

Black & White

I've entered Joan's Black and White contest at Paperlicious and this is my entry. You'd think only having to use black and white would be an easy thing to whip up. Well, not for me! I had a hard time coming up with something...but this is the end result. Paper is from DCWV, the ribbon I bought at Walmart and the Thinking of You stamp is from Stampin' Up. I kinda like it. Very simple looking. Anyway, wish me luck!
Gotta run...my brother and I are going out tonight for a "couple" cocktails! (Har!) Hubby is staying home with the girls so mommy can go out! I'm sure I'll be blasted off one drink, but hey, I'm actually going out and deal with people who won't be screaming "MAMA" every five minutes...at least I HOPE not! LOL

Brrrrr!

Holy crap it's cold!!!! We're in the middle of a major snow storm here and it's freaking me out! The weather people are predicting 14 inches of snow overnight and 4 - 7 inches more tomorrow. What the hell?! The drive to work tomorrow morning should be interesting to say the least *yikes*.

I don't know about you, but everyone I know either has a cold or the flu. I'm predicting coming down sick within the next couple days. Both my girls have colds and hubby has it the worst. I'm just waiting...and stocking up on the Nyquil.

Here's the latest card from the Very Punny set. Love this little cow!

Oh, by the way...thanks to everyone who has emailed me with ideas for the girls' Tinkerbell themed birthday party. I've almost got all the invitations done and I'm going to start working on the centerpieces for the tables. I hope they turn out ok. Things never seem to turn out the way I picture them in my head. Go figure.

Huh!

Thought this was cute. I always figured myself as more of a Grover kinda gal, but Cookie Monster works for me too!
You Are Cookie Monster

Misunderstood as a primal monster, you're a true hedonist with a huge sweet tooth.

You are usually feeling: Hungry. Cookies are preferred, but you'll eat anything if cookies aren't around.

You are famous for: Your slightly crazy eyes and unusual way of speaking

How you live your life: In the moment. "Me want COOKIE!"

Hoppy For You!

I just love this little froggy. I'm still playing around with SU's Very Punny Set. I used the "Hoppy" part and substituted "For You" with SU's Sincere Salutations "Birthday".
I cased this from someone on SCS but I forgot to write her name down...sorry! Anyway, I used Pocket Full of Posies paper which I totally love. You can't really tell from the picture, but there is glitter in the middle of the flowers. So cute!

For the next few weeks I'm going to be working on creating invitations for my girls' 2nd birthday! I can't believe they are turning two already. Seems just like yesterday we brought them home from the hospital. Anyway, I've decided to go with a "Tinkerbell" theme. If anyone has any ideas on table centerpieces, loot bags for the kiddies (boys and girls), or any kind of decorations, please let me know. I'm going to try to make everything myself this year *yikes*. I'll post pictures of my progress, so please leave a comment...I love to read them!! Stay warm!

Very Punny

Since hubby was at a Super Bowl party and girls were in bed for the night, I finally got a chance to make a couple of cards using Stampin' Up's "Very Punny" set. I thought these stamps were too cute.

You can't really tell in pictures but I bought myself some watercolor pencils over the weekend and have been playing around with them. I hear most people use the Prismacolors but, of course, no one sells them around my neck of the woods, so I opted for an off-brand. They seem to work pretty well, but after you get to watercoloring the image, the color doesn't come out as bright as the cards I've seen using the Prismacolors. So I guess I'm off to ebay to get me a set =)
