Party Pics

Well, the party was a success and the girls had alot of fun, although you'd never be able to tell by the pictures. I've yet to get a picture of them smiling (or together for that matter!). My camera died right as we started opening presents so a friend is going to email me the pictures that they took. They got loads of clothes, pjs, shoes, toys, new Barney dvd's (ugh!), their first purses (so cute!), potty chairs (yikes!) from Grandma and Papa, a cute picnic table from Grandma and Grandpa, and pink and purple tricycles from Mommy and Daddy. Emily almost has the concept of it and I'm sure Ashley will catch on soon too. I think their favorite toy is the wooden talking puzzles that Godmommy and Goddaddy got for them. They had a ball with them last night. My favorite is the Aquadoodle that Uncle Tim got for them, AND he got them the stamps that go with it! You know I'm going to be teaching them all about that! Oh, they also raked in some cash and savings bonds. These girls are not spoiled at all!! We all had a great time and I'm pooped.

My hubby's cousin made the yummy!

Emily's Name Frame

I finished Emily's name frame last week, but forgot to post it. I really love the DCWV patterned paper and colors on this. I covered chipboard letters with paper from the same DCWV stack and added some glitter. Hey a girl's gotta have some bling, right?

Well, the b-day party is Sunday, and there is much to do so I probably won't post again until next week. I'll post some pics from the party. Have a great weekend!

Candy Jars

Three of our friends are having a combo b-day party tomorrow night so I just made these simple little candy jars for them. I found the jars at the dollar store, wrapped DCWV paper around them, then covered some chipboard tags and glued their inital on it, filled them with kisses, wrapped around some ribbon and voila...done.

My favorite thing tho, are these awesome bags I found at the Dollar Tree. Can't get much girlier than that!! Have a great weekend!

Yay Me!

I was just determined tonight to get this done! I cut out the letters with my little craft scissors then used an emery board to sand down the edges. I still think they look a bit jaged but overall not too bad for my first try at a name frame. I cased the layout from jademingmeidesigns who cased it from Taylored Expressions. Tomorrow night I'm going to do Emily's frame. Now the task of choosing a color scheme and which papers to use....decisions, decisions.... Have a good night!

Help Needed!!

I'm in the process of making my girls name frames for their room and they are not turning out well at all. Since I don't have the huge alphabet stamp set I decided on using chipboard letters. Ok, so I first glue the patterned paper on it, then let it dry a bit. I then tried to cut it out with a craft knife and it's lookin' crappy. I also tried just using scissors and it turns out the same. The edges are all jagged and wonky looking and I'm starting to take it personally! I've seen so many people who cover chipboard with patterned paper and they look perfect. So what is the secret? Somebody puh-lease tell me before I rip all the hair out of my head!! I'm a little stressed, can ya tell?! Can anyone help?

Maze Book

I found a tutorial on Craft TV Weekly on how to create this maze book. It was so easy and only took about an hour to make. I started this one for my mom so she could maybe keep it in her purse and when people ask about her granddaughters she can show them off!

Thanks to everyone who emailed me asking how Emily is. I ended up taking her to the doctor on Tuesday because she still wasn't feeling well. Her fever had gone down some, but she was still really cranky and I could just tell she wasn't acting her normal self. Come to find out she's got an ear infection and the dr. said that she has seen alot of kids lately having high fevers. Some kind of virus going around. So that's what we've been dealing with....a very cranky little girl. And let me tell you, when she's not happy, she definitely lets you know about it! Hopefully I'll be able to make a few cards over the weekend. I'm mailing out the invitations this weekend so after that I can get back to playing!
